Finisher Charm - Finding Sophia Donation
As Mermaid strives to increase our charitable donations and incorporate more green ideas, we are excited to announce that we will be making a donation to Finding Sophia for every athlete that crosses the finish line. Each runner will receive a unique Mermaid Run charm that was specially designed for the event, however in lieu of a necklace attached to the charm we will be making a donation to Finding Sophia. Finding Sophia is a non profit organization that builds houses for the poor in the foothills of Mexico. We are excited to partner with Finding Sophia and support those who need it most. For more information go to www.findingsophia.org
Shoe Donation
We will again be collecting your old shoes! We will have shoe bins on both Saturday and Sunday where you can drop off your old shoes. We especially need kids and women's size shoes. Shoes are then brought down to Mexico and distributed as part of Finding Sophia's outreach program.
Pancake Breakfast
Immediately following the race we'll have a pancake breakfast for all participants. The pancake breakfast will be hosted by the Santa Clara University Women's Rowing Team. Free for all participants, however we ask for a $5 dollar donation for all non-athletes. Proceeds from the breakfast go directly to the rowing team.
Mermaid Apparel
Don't forget to stop by the Mermaid Apparel Booth and check out the new full zip mermaid run hoodies, technical shirts, memaid run caps, race belts, etc. Cash, check or credit cards are welcome.
